Arsenal will be hoping for their first victory at Anfield since 2012 as they face a huge test of their title credentials.
Mikel Arteta is under pressure to deliver a trophy this season and after the Gunners have spent big in the transfer market, that expectation has risen.
Despite the absence of Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz for the clash, there is confidence that Arsenal can go to the champions and cause them real problems.
Liverpool have had a shaky start to the season defensively but former player Steve Nicol thinks Arteta’s side are stronger in another area too.

Steve Nicol thinks Arsenal have a stronger squad than Liverpool
Speaking on the latest episode of the ‘Highbury Squad’ podcast, former Liverpool star Nicol has expressed his belief that Arsenal have a stronger squad than Arne Slot’s side this season.
The Gunners have bolstered their ranks with signings such as Viktor Gyokeres and Eberechi Eze over the summer and Nicol thinks their bench could play a key role.
Nicol was asked whether he thought Arsenal had the stronger bench of the two sides and his answer was emphatic.
He stated: “Yes, I think so, yes, with the signings they have made I would agree with that, I would definitely agree with that.”
Liverpool themselves have spent big this window with the acquisitions of Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike, and could yet add Alexander Isak to their ranks.
However, heading into the clash, the Gunners will feel they have the superiority in the ability to change the game if needed.
Eberechi Eze likely to make impact from Arsenal bench against Liverpool
Arteta will be tempted to use Eze from the start, however after having only trained for a week with his new teammates, the sensible option would be to use him from the bench.
Eze has already made a good impression in training and if the game is tight heading into the closing stages, his energy and creativity could be a decisive factor.

It is likely that Noni Madueke and Gabriel Martinelli will occupy the wings for the Gunners and then Arteta is waiting on the fitness of skipper Martin Odegaard.
Should the Norwegian fail to pass a fitness test, the manager will need to choose between the youthful exuberance of Ethan Nwaneri or the experienced head of Mikel Merino.
