Ben White says his £100k-a-week Arsenal teammate is ‘scary’ at one thing, he can’t be stopped

Ben White has been raving about some of his teammates at Arsenal.

The Englishman has been at the Emirates for a little over three years now. He has become a fan favourite and is one of the club’s most consistent performers.

White’s quality in defence stands out more than anything else, but some of the things he does in set pieces have made him more popular.

However, White isn’t the only Arsenal player who is a big threat in the penalty box.

Gabriel Magalhaes joined Arsenal from Lille in the summer of 2020.

The Brazilian is one of the club’s most underrated players. He has improved season after season, but he just didn’t get the credit he deserved in his first four years at the club.

However, people are recognising Gabriel much more now – not just because of how good he is at the back but for his ability inside the opposition box as well.

The £100,000-a-week Gabriel is a huge threat during corners and has already scored twice this season – first against Tottenham and then against Manchester City.

White sees Gabriel in training every single day and knows just how big a threat he is. He has claimed that if the delivery is right, the Brazilian almost always scores, which is incredible.

Speaking to Ben Foster on Amazon Prime Video, White said: “Gabi… I think Saliba has taken a lot of the light but he (Gabriel) has been unbelievable and obviously, the threat he has when he’s in the box is scary.

“Every time you get a corner, you kind of know you’re going to score. If the ball is in like an alright area, then it’s a goal, for sure, which is amazing.”

Gabriel is on track to break big Arsenal record

Gabriel is such an underrated player.

William Saliba gets most of the praise in Arsenal’s backline and rightly so, but the Brazilian is right up there. He’s definitely better than Saliba in the opposition box.

Since joining Arsenal, Gabriel has scored 16 goals. That is a stunning return for a centre-half, and if he scores just seven more, he will become the highest-scoring defender in the club’s history.

Laurent Koscielny currently holds that record – he scored 22 goals in 255 games. Gabriel is on 16 in just 139 appearances, which is just outrageous.

We don’t expect Gabriel to break that record this season, but we’re convinced it is going to happen in one of the next two campaigns.
