Newcastle United captain Bruno Guimaraes has listed an Arsenal star as the second toughest opponent he has encountered in the Premier League.
Mikel Arteta has put together a wonderful team over the past five years, with Premier League title challenges and Champions League knockout runs the order of the day.
Newcastle may have had a difficult summer on the transfer front, but they boast one of the league’s best and most loyal players in Bruno Guimaraes.
The Brazil international was interviewed by Sky Sports ahead of Newcastle’s meeting with Liverpool, and he spoke highly of his Arsenal counterpart.

Bruno Guimaraes hails Arsenal star Declan Rice
The player in question is Declan Rice, who has gone from strength to strength since moving to Arsenal in 2023.
The England international has made a name for himself as one of the best midfielders in the world, and Bruno admitted he’s a big fan of the player.
When it came to his toughest Premier League opponents, Bruno listed Rice in second, ahead of Liverpool’s Alexis Mac Allister and behind Manchester City’s Rodri.
“I would put Rice at second,” said Bruno.
“I think Rice is a player who can defend, who can attack, who can score, who can tackle – he can do everything on the pitch. He’s a top player as well.”

What Eberechi Eze has said about Declan Rice
Rice has done so well at Arsenal that some fans have described his £105million outlay as a steal, jokingly suggesting West Ham should have had much more.
Eberechi Eze, who is closing in on a move to Arsenal, has also spoken highly of Rice, singing his praises a few years ago.
Back in 2023, Eze took part in an interview on Sky Sports in which he reviewed some of his peers’ stats on the then-new EA FC 24 game.
When presented with Declan Rice’s stats, Eze said: “That’s a lie. Is it lower than mine?
“It can’t be lower than mine. It’s bad man. He could be incredible, an incredible player.
“One of the best defensive midfielders in the world for you?” Eze was asked, to which he replied: “Potentially, he can be.
“It’s a journey, he’s just started at Arsenal, so we can see what he can do, but I wouldn’t put it past him at all.”
