Chelsea fans now admit they were ‘so dumb’ to let one star join Arsenal after Newcastle win

Many Chelsea fans have now admitted that they think the club made a major mistake in striking one deal with Arsenal.

Plenty of Chelsea supporters now feel that allowing Jorginho to join Arsenal was a mistake.

Jorginho was in sensational form as Arsenal cruised to a 4-1 win against Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday evening. The victory allowed Mikel Arteta’s side to keep pace with Liverpool and Manchester City in the Premier League title race.

The midfield veteran was a dominant force in the middle of the park. The 32-year-old particularly caught the eye with his passing against the Magpies. With one impressive ball over the top of the Newcastle defence, he was able to pick out the run of Gabriel Martinelli. The Brazilian winger was then able to cut the ball back across the penalty area for another former Chelsea player, Kai Havertz, to tap in from close range.

Arsenal fans were blown away by Jorginho’s performance, and not for the first time in recent weeks. The 50-cap Italy international also garnered plenty of credit for his display in the 3-1 win against Liverpool. His experience is a huge asset, as he brings so much calm and composure to the team. Arteta has now stated that he considers Jorginho to be world-class. He has also proven to be an ideal partner for Declan Rice in the middle of the park. 

Rice has already previously heaped praise on Jorginho. Meanwhile, Jorginho has also admitted that he’s taken on something of a mentoring role with Rice, and is helping to guide the former West Ham United man towards his full potential.

Chelsea fans admit mistake as Jorginho shines for Arsenal v Newcastle

Arsenal paid just £12 million to prise Jorginho away from Stamford Bridge in the January of 2023. There is now a clamour for the north London club to extend his existing contract. 

Meanwhile, Chelsea have been struggling in the Premier League, and their midfield has been weak at times. Many fans of the west London outfit now accept that Jorginho is missed by their club. Taking to X, one Chelsea fan said of Jorginho, “Enough time has passed to admit we took him for granted.”

Another stated, “we had an all timer dm at our disposal.” Another fan of the Blues admitted it was “Ridiculous that no one saw his quality.” One other supporter simply said, “We’re so dumb.”
