Cristiano Ronaldo believes Arsenal are capable of winning the Premier League title this season.
The Gunners currently sit six points clear at the summit of the English top flight after ten matches, having conceded just three goals in the process.
Mikel Arteta’s team strolled past Burnley at the weekend to secure their seventh successive clean sheet and their ninth win in a row in all competitions.
The Spaniard’s side quite simply look imperious defensively, and this has led many to tip them to lift the title come May.

Cristiano Ronaldo says Arsenal can win the Premier League this season
Before the season started, Liverpool were deemed narrow favourites to win the title after spending over £400 million on new players over the summer.
However, after just ten games, the Reds have issues in several areas, while fellow title candidates Manchester City are overly reliant on Erling Haaland’s goals.
This combination of factors has prompted many to turn to the Gunners as favourites. Ally McCoist has backed Arsenal to win the Premier League, while Alan Shearer has also changed his mind to favour Arteta’s side.
Former Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo is the latest to back the North London outfit in the title race.
Speaking to Piers Morgan, Ronaldo tipped the Gunners to manage this feat.
“Manchester (United) are not going to win the league for sure, because they have so many points behind right now,” he said.
“It’s possible. Yes. But I don’t believe that. Arsenal probably, it’s possible. Yes, Arsenal can win the league.”
Cristiano Ronaldo’s endorsement changes nothing for Arsenal
Arsenal fans will be delighted that Ronaldo, and several others, are finally backing the Gunners to lift the piece of silverware that has eluded them for so long.
However, for Arteta and his players, the striker’s endorsement means very little.
The Spaniard and his squad are focused on the prize and determined not to let outside noise impact them. In previous seasons, the Gunners have struggled with carrying the burden of being labelled as favourites.
In 2022/23, they went on a disastrous run near the end of the season that cost them, as the pressure got to them. In the following season, the media narratives around Arsenal certainly didn’t help Arteta’s side.
Now, they cannot afford to let the growing expectation that they will win the trophy deter them from doing so.
