Arsenal succumbed to their first Premier League defeat of the season with a 1-0 defeat at Anfield.

Mikel Arteta’s side defended well throughout the game but were undone by a moment of magic from Dominik Szoboszlai as his free kick from 30 yards whistled beyond David Raya into the top corner.

Going forward, Arsenal were really below par and Gary Neville criticised Declan Rice for his deliveries from set-pieces as Liverpool stood strong against the threat.

Eberechi Eze made his debut as a second half substitute but the Gunners looked toothless in attack once again. However, the match-winner Szoboszlai has singled out one Arsenal player as an ‘unbelievable’ player.

Dominik Szoboszlai thinks David Raya is ‘unbelievable’ at Arsenal

Speaking to Sky Sports post-match coverage of Arsenal’s 1-0 defeat to Liverpool, Szoboszlai has labelled goalkeeper Raya as ‘unbelievable’ when discussing his magnificent free kick.

Szoboszlai stated: “To be honest, this shot, I didn’t practice it in the past three weeks, but I had to take the risk and shoot it harder.

“I knew that Raya likes to jump behind the wall, he’s an unbelievable goalkeeper, and if it was inside a bit more he would save it.”

There were some notably impressive defensive performances from the likes of Gabriel Magalhaes and Cristhian Mosquera, however, they could do nothing to prevent the wonder strike from the Hungarian.

It was a game that only going to be decided from an individual mistake or a moment of brilliance and Szoboszlai stood up to the challenge for Arne Slot’s side.

David Raya’s match statistics v Liverpool show Arsenal will be disappointed with defeat

Neville criticised Arsenal for playing out from the back too much against Liverpool and inviting pressure, but in truth Arteta’s side were comfortable throughout most of the match.

It took a free kick from over 30 yards to break the resistance of the Gunners’ defence and Arteta will feel that it is going the other way where his side need to drastically improve.

Not many teams will go to Anfield this season and concede just three shots on target, however, Liverpool made the decisive action in the game.

Arsenal themselves only mustered one shot on target and will perhaps regret not being more adventurous in their set up and approach.
