Arsenal have been linked with a move to sign Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson.
In fact, Sky Sports ran a report last week which claimed that Arsenal remain in the mix to sign Elliot Anderson despite Manchester City leading the race.
Mikel Arteta’s recruitment chiefs have Anderson on their transfer shortlist, along with Newcastle United’s Sandro Tonali, who favours a move to the Emirates over Tottenham Hotspur.

Elliot Anderson loves watching Arsenal star Declan Rice
Speaking on ITV Sport’s YouTube channel, Anderson explained that he models his game on Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice.
“Just watching Dec all season playing in an England shirt,” the Nottingham Forest star stated.
“Yeah, although I’m playing alongside him and we’ve got slightly different roles, I just think I love him as a player and I like to watch him and and take things from his game and he’s been unbelievable this season for Arsenal.”
Perhaps if Arsenal launched a concrete bid for Anderson, his head may turn towards the North Londoners over Man City.
Aside from being the reigning Premier League champions, Arsenal are also in a more settled position going into the new season.
Arsenal fans…What should Thomas Tuchel do with Declan Rice in the next two games?
There is no guarantee that Man City will be the same outfit under Enzo Maresca, following Pep Guardiola’s exit, so the Gunners are probably a more attractive destination for a lot of players at the moment.
If Anderson has a really good tournament next to Rice in England’s midfield, he may be keen on forming that relationship at club level too.
A telling month or so lies ahead.
