Myles Lewis-Skelly has put pen to paper on a new deal at Arsenal, which will keep him in North London until 2025.

The Hale End star rose to prominence during the 2024/25 season, establishing himself as Mikel Arteta’s first-choice left-back.

With a year remaining on his contract, Arsenal rushed to tie Lewis-Skelly down and have now secured the future of one of the brightest young English talents.

The contract should serve as a huge statement to those looking to enjoy similar paths to the first time in the Hale End academy, which is becoming an increasingly fruitful source of talent.

Establishing himself as a fan favourite over the last year due to his exceptional work rate and zealous personality, Lewis-Skelly has become an important cornerstone of Arteta’s team.

The Gunners will look to build the next iteration of their team around the Hale End star, and have rewarded him for his progression with a lucrative new contract.

To celebrate his new deal, the Arsenal media team released an emotional announcement video.

The piece of content involved Lewis-Skelly walking his grandmother around the Emirates, before walking out on to the pitch and being welcomed by a surprise round of applause from close family and friends.

Several figures who have been involved in the player’s development were present, including his mother, Marcia Lewis, Per Mertesacker, Adam Birchall and Ian Wright.

An emotional watch, Arsenal fans will be over the moon about Lewis-Skelly committing himself to the club for at least another five years.

Myles Lewis-Skelly’s announcement video says it all about the Kroenkes’ transformation of Arsenal

Not long ago, the Emirates was a toxic place to be.

The fans were restless with the club’s ownership and how the team were performing on the pitch, while the Kroenkes seemed disinterested in the North London club, almost entirely absent from proceedings in N5.

Fast forward five or six years, and everything is different.

The Kroenkes have set about repairing their relationship with the supporters after the Super League fiasco, and have done so by employing people within the club who genuinely care about its fortunes and are in touch with the fanbase.

This extends to the media team, who have done an excellent job of reshaping how Arsenal are perceived and creating a family atmosphere through the branding again.

The Lewis-Skelly announcement video is just another example of this, and similar pieces of content can be expected if Ethan Nwaneri and Bukayo Saka also re-sign.
