Ethan Nwaneri replicates Emile Smith Rowe with Euros win for England under-21s
England’s win over Germany in the final of the under-21 European Championships has come as another historic feat.
It’s back-to-back triumphs in the tournament, with yet another group of players going down in the record books as winners.
For Nwaneri, it’s just one bit of silverware that he hopes can lead to even more for Arsenal and England in the years to come.
The 18-year-old has helped replicate the achievement set by Emile Smith Rowe for England under-21s just two years ago.
The former Arsenal winger was part of the Three Lions team that managed to beat Spain in the final of the European Championships to get a big victory.
Now Nwaneri has replicated that, helping England go on to beat Germany in a thrilling game that ended 3-2.
He was joined by former Arsenal academy stars Omari Hutchinson and Brooke Norton-Cuffy, who also featured for their nation.
Following that victory, Mikel Arteta must be careful not to replicate the mistake he made with Smith Rowe after his starring role for England in a Euros win.

Arsenal can’t afford to repeat Emile Smith Rowe mistake with Ethan Nwaneri
After Emile Smith Rowe completed his victory with England in 2023, there was some hope that he would kick on at Arsenal and reach that next level.
Instead, the Gunners struggled to get the most out of him as Mikel Arteta kept him on the fringes and couldn’t find a way for him into the team.
Having sold him after, Arsenal will have felt that was a mistake, having lacked attacking depth over the past year.
With Nwaneri’s contract situation, there is a real fear of losing him in the near future if he can’t push on to find a place in the team.
Following such a big win, there will be hope that the youngster can do what those before him couldn’t.
