Arsenal plot Myles Lewis-Skelly contract reward

Arsenal fans were mesmerized by Lewis-Skelly’s performance in the North London Derby as the teenager dominated the left side of defence.

It’s not only supporters and the teen’s teammates who are impressed by his rise, as Fabrizio Romano reported that the club have a plan for the starlet.

“Arsenal are preparing new deal proposal for Myles Lewis-Skelly to sign this year,” Romano said on X.

The renowned journalist went on to offer some insight into how Arsenal’s hierarchy feel about the youngster, stating that he’s viewed as a ‘key part’ of Arteta’s long-term project.

“Club and coaching staff excited with his progress, discussions to follow with his camp but Arsenal very happy and proud of his development. Myles, key part of long term project.”

Lewis-Skelly signed his first professional contract at Arsenal in October 2023 at the age of 17, an honour that left the player speechless.

“It means the world to me, my boyhood club ever since I can remember. To play for Arsenal, I’m truly speechless,” he told Arsenal’s official website

What Mikel Arteta said about Lewis-Skelly’s North London Derby display

Lewis-Skelly represents Arsenal’s future, following in the footsteps of Hale End graduates before him to take strong first steps in his senior career.

The 18-year-old dazzled in the North London Derby, leaving Arteta amazed by the ‘very rare’ standard of his performance.

“I think it’s very rare to see 18-year-olds playing against Kulusevski and Johnson in a big London derby for the first time to perform with that composure, attitude and that control emotionally. It’s very rare to see,” Arteta told the media post-match.

Now that Arsenal are eager to extend the academy graduate’s stay, the only way is up for the teenager, who has made a resounding impression on those at the Emirates.
