Arsenal’s primary objective of winning the Premier League title is now complete.

The Gunners’ focus is now on getting the job done in the Champions League final as well, which would be historic for the club.

Once that is done, Arsenal’s focus will shift to contract renewals, and three names are currently high on Andrea Berta’s wish list.

One of them is Declan Rice.

Fabrizio Romano says Declan Rice is more than happy to extend his Arsenal contract

Arsenal signed Rice for a club-record fee in the summer of 2023.

The England international penned a five-year deal at the time, with an option to extend that by another 12 months. That means Arsenal have his future secured for another three years.

However, the Gunners are keen to reward him for his incredible performances, and initial talks over a new deal have already taken place with him and Jurrien Timber.

Fabrizio Romano addressed the situation of both players, and he has revealed that the feeling between Rice and Timber is the same – they are happy to sign new deals.

He said: “Jurrien Timber and Declan Rice, the next two players who will discuss a new contract at Arsenal. There are conversations ongoing.

“The club is, I would say, obviously very happy with both of them.

“Talks are already ongoing, and my understanding is that both players are more than happy at Arsenal and happy to eventually continue.”

Fabrizio Romano shares an update on Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal future

Rice and Timber aren’t the only ones in line for new contracts; Mikel Arteta is too.

The Spaniard will enter the final year of his deal this summer, and it is no surprise to know that the club are desperate to extend his terms.

Romano has revealed that discussions will continue in the summer, and the feeling is that this will be completed without too much trouble.

Romano said: “Arsenal are working on a new contract. It’s going to be one of the priorities after the Champions League final, of course, not for now. Now the focus is on the pitch after the Premier League title. It’s time to focus on the Champions League.

“But then, Mikel Arteta will resume talks with Arsenal over a new contract with a pay rise. And so the expectation is for Arteta to get a new contract done at Arsenal after the Champions League final.

“It could take some time, of course. There are some holidays, and there is some free time. But then Mikel Arteta plans to continue with Arsenal again, the club giving him a pay rise.
