Arsenal are having a very impressive summer transfer window.

The Gunners were fairly quiet in June, but since the start of July, Andrea Berta has completed three signings already.

A couple more are close to being sealed as well — both Noni Madueke and Cristhian Mosquera have undergone their medical tests.

Mosquera will be the big defensive addition at Arsenal this summer, but another player’s skills off the ball have been praised by a former Gunner now.

Anders Limpar says Arsenal signing Christian Norgaard is a ‘defensive monster’

Arsenal completed the signing of Christian Norgaard from Brentford earlier in July.

The Gunners needed another midfielder despite the arrival of Martin Zubimendi. Mikel Arteta wanted an experienced option to replace Jorginho.

After links to several players, Arsenal chose Norgaard because he knows the Premier League well and is a solid player.

The jury is still out on Norgaard, but former Arsenal star Anders Limpar is convinced he is going to be a very good player for the Gunners.

Speaking to TipsBladet, he said: “Everyone knows Norgaard is a very good player. He is good for Denmark, and he was good for Brentford. He is a defensive monster who can kick with both legs.

“I think Arsenal have brought Norgaard to that role because he is so skilled defensively.

“He has an incredible ability to read the game, so now Arsenal have two quality players to house in front of the back chain.”

Christian Norgaard’s role at Arsenal

Not many people are excited about Norgaard’s arrival at Arsenal.

The Dane is by no means a big-name signing, but we think he has the ability to become a very useful player for the Gunners.

Norgaard’s main role at Arsenal, aside from providing cover for Zubimendi, will be to come off the bench and see out games.

The 31-year-old is an experienced campaigner, and he is more than capable of controlling the tempo late on when the Gunners are defending a lead.

However, Norgaard has requested Arteta to give him more freedom to attack. It will be interesting to see if the Arsenal manager will oblige.
