Arsenal have one of the best defences in Europe.

The Gunners have conceded the fewest goals in the Premier League in each of the last two seasons, and it won’t be a surprise at all if they do it again next term.

William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes are arguably the two best defenders on the planet, and they have played a big part in Arsenal’s success at the back over the last three years.

However, Gabriel has now claimed that another Arsenal defender makes his life easier.

Gabriel Magalhaes says Myles Lewis-Skelly makes him ‘feel safe’ at Arsenal

Myles Lewis-Skelly has had a sensational year at Arsenal.

The teenager burst onto the scene under Mikel Arteta and established himself as the club’s first-choice left-back, even though he had no prior experience at the top level.

The Hale End graduate was incredible all season, and Arsenal rewarded Lewis-Skelly with a new contract earlier this week.

Following his new deal, Arsenal’s social team asked some of Lewis-Skelly’s teammates a few questions about him.

Declan Rice was asked what the 18-year-old brings to the squad. He replied: “Proper character!”

David Raya was requested to name his favourite thing about Lewis-Skelly, and he said: “The way he plays with no fear and his professionalism.”

Mikel Merino then had to describe Lewis-Skelly as a person. He replied: “Myles, really nice kid. Kind. Always willing to learn and full of confidence.”

Finally, Gabriel was asked what it is like to play next to the teenager. The Brazilian said: “He makes me feel safe. He’s a great player with incredible qualities.”

What is Myles Lewis-Skelly’s dream at Arsenal?

Lewis-Skelly is still only 18 years old, and he has the world at his feet.

The Englishman will be around for at least another 15 years, and he has the potential to become a legend at Arsenal if he continues progressing.

After signing his new contract, Lewis-Skelly revealed his goals at Arsenal, and fans will love his response.

“I want a legacy,” he said.

“I want to win everything there is to win in the game. I want to win trophies on the biggest stages whilst being a person that’s always learning and stays grounded, which is so important.”
