Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus has suffered a torrid time with injury since his arrival at the Emirates.

In his first season at the club in 2022, the Brazilian was in sensational form before a knee injury sustained at the FIFA World Cup really stopped his momentum.

Jesus scored five goals in two matches against Crystal Palace last season and was looking back to his best before a cruel ACL injury in the FA Cup halted him in his tracks once again.

An injury update was posted by Jesus last month showing him doing a number of exercises during his rehabilitation but the forward has just dropped another hint that his return may not be too far away.

Gabriel Jesus hints at return to Arsenal training in Instagram post

Declan Rice has backed Jesus to return stronger than ever following his injury surgery and the forward is putting the work in to return as soon as possible.

Posting on his Instagram account, Jesus has shared a short video of him putting on some running shoes surrounded by weights.

Jesus wrote: “One more week,” as the caption in a hint that his return to the grass may be imminent for the 28-year-old.

With the Gunners having already added Noni Madueke to their ranks and looking to secure Viktor Gyokeres, Jesus returning just after the start of the campaign would add another excellent option to Mikel Arteta’s ranks.

There is no doubting the ability the Brazilian possesses and having won numerous titles with Manchester City, his experience could still prove invaluable within the squad.

Arsenal would love to have Gabriel Jesus back to his best

The question remains over whether Jesus can return to his best form following such a horrific injury but the player’s determined attitude means he will do everything he can to make that happen.

Jesus provides Arsenal with a unique option when fit, a player that can wriggle out of the tightest of situations and press from the front like no other player in world football.

Arsenal are unlikely to sell Jesus this summer due to his fitness concerns and high wages but will not be in any rush with the player’s contract running until June 2027.

If he can return to form, it will be a win-win situation for Arteta. He will have a fit and firing Jesus to help end the club’s trophy drought, whilst also preserving his sell-on value.
