Max Dowman is the talk of English football at the moment and Arsenal teammate Gabriel Jesus has talked up the youngster’s quality.
Dowman exploded into life as Arsenal beat Everton recently and some are suggesting he gets a look-in from Thomas Tuchel at the World Cup.
That seems unlikely for now but at Arsenal, he’s very much impressing his teammates. Including, it seems, Gabriel Jesus.

Gabriel Jesus compares Max Dowman to Jack Grealish
There is so much hype around Dowman that it’s always going to be a lot for him to take in, in terms of outside noise.
However, complements from teammates are nice to hear and according to Brazilian forward Jesus, Dowman is showing very good signs.
“He’s very very good on the ball. Very good. To take the ball off him is hard,” Jesus said to Rio Ferdinand.
“He can play wide or through the middle. So that’s a good sign. He is so strong as well, very strong.
“I think he’s a ‘proper English player’. Like let’s say Jack [Grealish]. He’s strong, and good on the ball and also, he’s a killer in training. Like Ethan [Nwaneri] as well. Killers.”
What James Milner said about Max Dowman’s ability recently
There has been floods of praise for Dowman in recent weeks and this comment from Jesus is just another to add to the list.
Interestingly though, Premier League stalwart James Milner has also lavished praise on Dowman.
“He looks decent doesn’t he? Just how he carries the ball, his personality, facetiming Declan Rice and stuff like that,” Milner commented on the Rest is Football.
It’s time for round two! Who’s your Arsenal Player of the Season?
Jurrien Timber eliminated in the first round!!
“You need to have a bit about you to do things like that, the best players have that sort of arrogance on the field.
“We played against them earlier in the year, just how he receives the ball, his touches, his confidence, a long way to go obviously, I hate piling pressure on people, but he looks a special player.”
Clearly, Dowman is doing more than something right at the moment. Indeed, if he carries on, it’s hard to not see him being a first-team regular next season.
