Gabriel Magalhaes and Kai Havertz are two popular members of the Arsenal squad.

The Brazilian has been at the club since the summer of 2020, while this is Havertz’s third season at the Emirates Stadium.

Both players get along really well, so much so that Gabriel gave the German a nickname after seeing his physical transformation over the summer.

Gabriel Magalhaes reveals his nickname for Kai Havertz at Arsenal

Kai Havertz suffered a hamstring injury during a warm-weather training camp in Dubai earlier this year.

The former Chelsea man’s absence really hurt Arsenal, but he used his time off to great effect.

Havertz bulked up massively in that period, and he went to a whole new level during the summer break. Arsenal fans were stunned by how big he looked when he returned for pre-season.

Gabriel Magalhaes, who is a big guy himself, seems impressed too, but that hasn’t stopped him from making a few jokes about his German teammate.

In a video on Sky Sports, the defender was asked who he thinks is ‘the biggest beast in the gym’ at Arsenal. He named Havertz and revealed his nickname for him – kangaroo!

“Kai Havertz. I call him kangaroo. You know a kangaroo? They walk like this (pretends to walk like a kangaroo),” Gabriel jokes.

“I think now it’s Havertz. He’s doing very good in the gym and is looking very good, very strong.”

Arsenal fans haven’t seen Kai Havertz in full flow since he bulked up

Arsenal supporters haven’t been able to watch Havertz in full flow since his impressive physical transformation.

The German returned for just the final two games of last season, and he then suffered an injury in the very first fixture of this campaign.

That is a real shame, but there is some positive news.

Havertz is nearing a return to the Arsenal squad ahead of schedule. He is said to be in the final stage of his recovery, which means it won’t be long before we see him back in action.

It will be interesting to see how Mikel Arteta will use him in attack once he is fit and ready to go.
