Gary Neville does not feel confident that Declan Rice truly still believes Arsenal can win the Premier League title after losing to Man City.

After Arsenal’s defeat to Man City, Rice was spotted telling teammates, ‘It’s not done’ in regards to the Premier League title race.

Pep Guardiola’s team moved to the top of the Premier League table on Wednesday for the first time since August as they squeezed past Burnley 1-0.

Now, after City moved to the top for the first time, Neville has been speaking about the title race and, in particular, Rice’s rallying call.

Gary Neville thinks Manchester City players will be thinking Arsenal and Declan Rice are done after his emotional reaction to losing 2-1.

The former Manchester United defender thought Rice looked really emotional after the game, and his reaction suggests Arsenal’s belief has slipped.

Speaking about the incident, Neville told The Overlap: “If I were watching Declan Rice, nearly in tears, saying ‘it’s not done’, I’d be thinking, ‘you’re done’.

“It’s a good response, but I didn’t feel confident that when he was, I didn’t feel it was a like, and I’m a big fan of him, as you know.”

Ahead of the fixture, Neville urged Rice to grip the game against City, but admits he got it wrong as Bernardo Silva and Rodri got the better of him.

“I mean, last week I thought he would potentially grip that game, and in the end, it ended up being the other two midfield players. No, I think Bernardo Silva and Rodri got the better of him,” he added.

Ian Wright is also worried that Guardiola will be showing his players Rice’s reaction and telling his players that mentally they have got them.

Wright claimed: “Pep will be thinking that if he shows them that, then the Man City players will be saying ‘we’ve got them’.”

Guardiola said he loved Rice’s reaction; however, it felt like a very typical Guardiola interview, where he said one thing, but will secretly believe another.
