It’s become clear that, despite tipping Arsenal to win the Premier League at the start of the season, Graeme Souness isn’t the club’s biggest fan.
Souness made a baffling claim about Arsene Wenger recently, one that didn’t sit well with Arsenal supporters or just football fans in general.
For what it’s worth, Wenger certainly was a footballing man, and he’ll go down as one of the biggest influencers on the game in the modern era.
That being said, Mikel Arteta is currently attempting to create his own legacy at Arsenal, which will only begin once the Gunners start winning serious silverware again.
Tomas Rosicky thinks Arsenal can win the league this season, even if their form has slightly dipped this month.
And if Arsenal are going to be victorious next may, then Kai Havertz will have played a crucial part.
Graeme Souness is still underwhelmed by Kai Havertz at Arsenal
Havertz is set for his most prolific season in English football to date, having already scored six goals in 12 games.
However, when speaking on the ‘Up Front’ podcast, Souness admitted that he still wasn’t a big fan of the German, who he’s criticised before.

Souness lamented Arsenal’s decision to buy Havertz back in 2023, and he’s still refusing to change his tone.
Speaking with journalist Henry Winter on the podcast, Souness was looking ahead to Arsenal’s tough tie with Liverpool this weekend.
And even without necessarily being prompted, the pundit shared his latest thoughts on the striker.
Souness said: “I think I tipped Arsenal to win the league. For me, there’s a couple of points and theres’s a couple of areas in midfield, anyway, where I’m not quite sure.”
Winter replied: “Centre-forward, do they need a striker?”
Souness: “Liverpool?”
Winter: “No, Arsenal.”
Souness: “Do Arsenal need a striker? Well I’m not, Havertz, I’m not an enormous fan of his, but I was going to talk about Liverpool and their midfield [problems].”
Kai Havertz now enjoying Thierry Henry comparisons
Of course, Havertz will have stopped listening to any criticism at this point, he knows his worth to Arsenal.
The German was clearly suffering during his first few months at Arsenal, when you couldn’t move for talk of his short-comings.
However, Havertz is now being compared to Thierry Henry, such is the responsibility he’s taking in games.
That’s certainly not an opinion that Souness would agree with, but Arteta has helped Havertz find the headspace in which he truly believes in his own ability and worth.
