Arsenal are already experiencing a host of changes at the club this summer.
While there has been a shortage of attacking talent walking through the door at the Emirates Stadium, there have been some notable departures. Thomas Partey has ended his spell at Arsenal.
Arsenal fans have reacted to Takehiro Tomiyasu’s contract termination with mixed emotions and even Mikel Arteta’s coaching staff has seen changes.
Carlos Cuesta has joined Parma as their new manager, leaving a void behind the scenes. Arsenal are set to fill that void with a former Premier League player that was part of a team that destroyed Arsene Wenger’s dream.

Gabriel Heinze to join Arsenal’s coaching staff
According to David Ornstein at the Athletic, Arsenal are set to appoint former Manchester United defender Gabriel Heinze as part of the club’s coaching staff.
Heinze replaces Cuesta on Arteta’s team having held managerial roles at Godoy Cruz in Argentina, MLS side Atlanta United and Newell’s Old Boys.
The Argentine departed Newell’s in October 2023 and the Gunners began talks with Heinze back in 2024 with Arteta keen to get his former PSG teammate on board.

Arteta spoke about his time with Heinze at PSG and claimed that he and Mauricio Pochettino were ‘inspirational’ figures to him helping to understand the game.
It is another swift move from the club this summer having already acted quickly to replace Partey with Christian Norgaard on the playing side.
Gabriel Heinze ended Arsene Wenger’s 49-game unbeaten run in 2004
Arsenal fans will remember Heinze as the tough-tackling defender under Sir Alex Ferguson’s reign at Old Trafford.
Speaking to Sky Sports back in 2004, Heinze spoke about how he wanted to do ‘everything’ he could to stop the Gunners from reaching 50 games unbeaten ahead of the clash between the two sides.
Heinze stated: “We’ll do everything we can to stop them. We want to win whatever the cost. If we can do it playing fantastic football, great, but if not it will be with fight and spirit.
”Records are there to be broken and it’s an extra boost to know that we are the ones that can do it. You win some games with quality and creativity but others you have to win through heart alone. The ability to battle is as important as playing well.”
The Gunners will now have that grit and winning mentality in their own dressing room alongside Arteta. There will certainly not be many dull moments with Heinze around.
