Arsenal are looking to tie Bukayo Saka down to a new long-term contract.

Andrea Berta has a host of contract situations to deal with this summer, including the likes of Saka, William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes.

The Gunners want to ensure their key players have committed their long-term futures to the club, to deter potential suitors from pursuing these stars, and Saka is at the heart of this.

Mikel Arteta’s team’s talisman has enjoyed a fine season, scoring 12 goals and registering 13 assists, despite missing over three months of action due to injury.

Bukayo Saka set to become Arsenal’s highest earner

Saka showed his brilliance against PSG, with the Hale End graduate Arsenal’s biggest threat throughout the 180 minutes of football.

The Gunners will need their star man in games of this magnitude if they are to have any success moving forward.

The England international’s current deal expires in the summer of 2027, and thus, the Emirates hierarchy are desperate to get the player to put pen to paper on a fresh contract.

According to GiveMeSport, Saka is set to become the club’s highest earner, with his terms expected to improve from around £195,000 a week to £300,000 a week.

Negotiations have progressed in recent weeks, and an agreement between the winger and club is reportedly close.

The length of the prospective contract has not yet been reported, although it’s likely to be in the four-to-six-year bracket.

Saka wants to win the Ballon d’Or at Arsenal, and the Gunners have to put him in the best possible position to achieve something like this by building a super team around him that can win major honours.

Most of Arsenal’s squad is already at the requisite level, but they need more quality at the top end of the pitch to accompany Saka.

With the star boy set to be imminently tied down, the North Londoners can begin to make plans around who they want to add to their ranks this summer.
