Ian Wright has now urged Arsenal to sign one Premier League star this summer, before Manchester City secure his services.

Arsenal will be looking to go toe-to-toe with Manchester City once again in this upcoming campaign, having taken the Premier League title race down to the final game of the season last time around.

Both sides will be seeking to improve their squads over the course of the summer transfer window. Mikel Arteta is seeking to bolster his options across a range of positions.

Arsenal are now closing in on a deal for Riccardo Calafiori. The Gunners are also still in the race to sign Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams.

Ian Wright has previously urged his former club to make Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze their top target.

Ian Wright tells Arsenal to beat Manchester City to Eberechi Eze transfer

As reports of Manchester City’s interest in Eze race come to light, via We Are Palace, Wright’s comments on the 26-year-old have re-emerged.

Speaking on Match of the Day, the former striker discussed Eze’s development, and readiness to step up to the next level. He said: “He’s got it now, he’s realised he’s very much ready for this… Unplayable… Wow.”

Why Edu must listen to Wright and bring Eze to Arsenal

Eze was in dazzling form for the Eagles last season, and his quality has not escaped Arteta’s attention. Arsenal have previously been credited with an interest in Eze.

Eze is available for £60 million this summer, and would represent an extremely exciting arrival at the Emirates Stadium.

The 7-cap England international would add creativity to Arteta’s side, taking some of the burden off Martin Odegaard to be the Gunners’ creator-in-chief. He would also be the ideal player to make the left-eight midfield berth in the Arsenal team his own.

Not only does Eze excel on the ball, and boast an eye for goal, but he also possesses an impressive work rate and can be relied upon to press aggressively and commit to his defensive duties.

On top of that, Eze is able to operate on the left flank, and could offer cover and competition for the likes of Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard in that part of the pitch.
