Towards the beginning of his time as manager of Arsenal, Mikel Arteta was under some pressure when results under the Spaniard were proving to be very inconsistent.
However, the club knew that Arteta was overseeing a huge overhaul at Arsenal, and the likes of Stan Kroenke could see the bigger vision under their new manager.
In recent seasons, Arsenal have seen the benefit of their patience and investment in Arteta’s plans, who have come incredibly close to delivering a much sought after Premier League title.
However, in the midst of the club’s continuous injury problems this season, Arteta’s name and the word ‘pressure’ have been mentioned together again once or twice.
Most believe any talk of ‘Arteta out’ is beyond ludicrous at this stage, a manager who is still doing a brilliant job with the resources available to him, but a small minority of Arsenal fans aren’t happy.
Ian Wright calls for Arsenal to ‘help’ Mikel Arteta in January transfer window
That being said, Ian Wright saw fit to comment on Arteta’s future on the ‘Wrighty’s House’ podcast, protesting that he is still ‘one million percent’ behind the Arsenal boss.
The former Arsenal striker also then sent a message to the Kroenkes demanding that the club back Arteta in January, saying that they have to ‘help’.

Wright said: “You know what, before we go, right, I just would say, and this is like to the board in respects of Mikel – I still have 100% faith in what this man is capable of doing.
“He’s brought us here, in fact, it’s one million percent faith.
“The board have to help him. Any time you say that, oh, you’ve got to help him, we need something in January.
“We may not get nothing in January, but I would like to see some effort because I think the summer is, they have to, it’s imperative that they make some very, some major additions.”
Arteta hoping to smash his January transfer record at Arsenal
To date under Arteta, Arsenal’s business in January transfer windows has been relatively modest.
Arsenal paid £20m to sign Trossard in 2023, a window in which they also parted with a similar fee for Jakub Kiwior.
But if Arsenal are going to genuinely add to Arteta’s options up top this month, it’s going to cost a lot more.
Matheus Cunha’s agent is making some noise about a possible move this month, an Arsenal target who was meant to be signing a new contract with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
But perhaps it’s Benjamin Sesko who Arsenal fans are hoping to sign most, if any plans towards a summer move can be brought forward six-months.
Sesko was left out of RB Leipzig’s squad last weekend, a striker who looks perfect for Arteta.
