Arsenal could be alerted to the actions of one forward target’s agent as the January transfer window nears the home straight.

While Arsenal plan to welcome a new forward this winter, Mikel Arteta is yet to see an attacker delivered to his squad.

The Gunners are struggling with a lack of squad depth this term, with limited options due to a mass of injuries halting progression.

Arsenal are dropping points far too easily in the Premier League, emphasising the need for reinforcements before time runs out.

Agent of Arsenal target Matheus Cunha is making ‘noise’

At the start of the window, there was concern that Arteta wasn’t eager to bolster his squad however, further injuries have changed the Arsenal manager’s view.

Following the Gunners’ disappointing 2-2 with Aston Villa, Arteta compared his squad depth to Liverpool’s, in what could be seen as a plea for signings.

Arsenal haven’t been short of transfer links this month, with targets identified from near and far, including several from the Premier League.

One Premier League player who is admired is Matheus Cunha, who Arsenal have eyed for some time.

There was a blow as Arsenal learned that Wolves want to extend Cunha’s contract however, there’s since been a different take.

Journalist Alex Richards took to X to reveal that Cunha’s agent is ‘starting to make a little noise’ regarding his client’s next step.

The Mirror Football editor said that the Arsenal target’s agent sees a ‘gap in the market’ for Cunha and, is said to be ‘growing keen to exploit it’.

It’s understood that such gap might disappear by the summer, which must alert Arsenal as Wolves are yet to officially tie up the Brazilian’s new deal.

Matheus Cunha Arsenal transfer – is it too late?

Ian Wright pleaded to the Arsenal board for new signings, as patience is running thin at the Emirates.

The same feeling is coming from Cunha’s camp, in what could present the Gunners with the opportunity to pounce on the 25-year-old’s situation.

It was understood that the best route for Arsenal to sign Cunha is if Wolves get relegated but, given the severity of Arteta’s depth situation in attack, this opportunity must surely be exploited.

The Brazil international is a daring and direct forward and a player who could certainly replenish Arsenal’s front line with his Premier League experience.
