Arsenal legend Ian Wright has named Martin Odegaard as his Player of the Season ahead of Bukayo Saka and William Saliba.
The Gunners, for the most part, have been the best team in the Premier League this season. We may not win the title now because of Manchester City, but we’ve shown everyone how good we can be.
Saka and Saliba are many Arsenal fans’ picks for the Player of the Season award, but Wright believes Odegaard’s consistency makes him worthy of the accolade.

Why Pele Is Overrated.
Ian Wright says Martin Odegaard is Arsenal’s Player of the Season
Ian Wright watched Martin Odegaard put up a sensational performance in Arsenal’s win against Chelsea at the Emirates this week.
We needed a response from the players after going four games without a win, and our skipper stepped up and led by example to help us win the game.
Odegaard scored twice for Arsenal and took his tally up to 14 goals in the Premier League this season. That is an outrageous return for an attacking midfielder, and Wright has been really impressed with him.
He said on Premier League Productions: “I couldn’t believe we got him on loan in the first place, and when he came back, if we could get him again, because of his pedigree, what he is capable of, his ability.
“The fact that he is captain now, it’s not like he’s been at the club for many years, but being captain and leading by example and chipping in with that many goals, he’s been unbelievable.
“I think he has been our player of the season – William Saliba was on that track but he’s injured. Odegaard’s consistency for the whole season has been absolutely tremendous for us.”

The Insider’s View:
There are plenty of candidates for the Arsenal Player of the Season award.
Saka, Saliba and Odegaard are the obvious picks, but new signings Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko deserve a shout as well. Gabriel Magalhaes has been our best defender this season, while Ben White and Aaron Ramsdale have been excellent too.
Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey have both been solid in midfield for large parts of the season, and they are among the biggest reasons why we stayed on top of the table for such a long time. Gabriel Martinelli has been sensational too, scoring 15 goals and providing five assists.
Yes, we know we named the whole team there, but that’s how good everyone has been. Let’s just give them all an award at the end of this season.
