Viktor Gyokeres’ injury was one of the low points from Arsenal’s win over Burnley at Turf Moor.
Mikel Arteta’s side recorded their fifth consecutive Premier League win by beating Burnley 2-0 away from home.
Viktor Gyokeres and Declan Rice got on the scoresheet as the duo starred with tremendous individual performances, but there was one negative.
After Gyokeres thrived in the first half against Burnley, the Swede did not appear for the second half, with it later revealed that Arsenal’s striker had picked up an injury.

Expert shares early Viktor Gyokeres injury verdict
Post-match, Arteta confirmed that Gyokeres felt something muscular, leading the Arsenal manager to hook the 27-year-old at the interval.
It was a dire shame given how well the summer signing was playing, with all eyes on the severity of the injury.
On X, injury analyst ‘Physio Scout’ shared their early verdict on Gyokeres’ issue, predicting when the Sweden international could return to action.
To the relief of Arsenal fans, Physio Scout anticipated that Gyokeres’ problem ‘looks more like’ tightness or a mild strain as opposed to a ‘big injury’.
What Arsenal supporters will really want to know is how long the striker could be missing for.
Physio Scout outlined that if the injury is merely an issue of tightness, Gyokeres could return within a week.
That being said, if the forward collected a grade one strain, he could face between two and four weeks on the sidelines.
Though Kai Havertz is nearing his injury return, the German isn’t quite ready yet, limiting Arteta’s options if Gyokeres were to require some time away from the action.
The Arsenal games that Gyokeres could miss
It’s expected that Havertz could return after the November international break, but before then, the Gunners face two crucial fixtures.
Regardless of the severity of Gyokeres’ injury, Arteta could be tempted to rest the Swede in the upcoming Champions League clash against Slavia Prague, given what follows.
| Date | Opponent | H/A | Competition |
| 04/11 | Slavia Prague | A | Champions League |
| 08/11 | Sunderland | A | Premier League |
Arsenal will be desperate to have their striker available for their next Premier League fixture, as Sunderland pose a difficult challenge at the Stadium of Light.
Granit Xhaka’s side are in a tremendous spell of form, something that the Gunners will need to be at full strength to beat in order to keep their record intact.
After the injury expert’s first review, it’s hoped that Gyokeres avoided a strain of any kind, with the 27-year-old needed on matchday 11.
