After 11 games played, Arsenal are heading into the November international break in fourth position, Mikel Arteta’s side have won five games, drawn four and lost two.
As a result, many pundits and fans are already calling time on Arsenal’s title hopes this season given that they are now nine points behind Liverpool in top spot.
Of course, others will point out that in those 11 games, Arsenal have already gone away to Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City, Chelsea and also faced Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium.

Arteta might be calmer than most imagine right now, he’ll recognise that there are still 27 games left to play in a long season ahead.
Arsenal told they’ve only got a minimal chance of winning the Premier League
With that in mind, Gary Neville was astonished by some numbers he’d seen produced regarding Arsenal’s title chances when speaking on the ‘Stick to Football’ podcast.
Neville was shocked to hear that Arsenal had only been given a 4.9% chance of winning from their current position, something he disagreed with.

He said: “Last night I got stopped in my tracks because I was on Instagram and I saw Sky Sports’ Instagram feed post out a title probability percentage.
“It blew my mind actually, I was mesmerised, Liverpool 60% – most likely to win the title.
“City, 34% chance of winning the title. Arsenal, 4.9% chance of winning the title.
“So I was like, there’s no way that those title odds or that probability is right.”
Roy Keane replied: “Well which one of them do you think is extreme?”
Neville: “Arsenal at 4% and Liverpool at 60% – I just don’t feel that probability is right at this moment in time.
“10 years, 15 years ago, I know it’s been different in the last few years, but that’s because of Pep [Guardiola], we’re not talking about a Pep season here, we’re talking about a different season.
“So my point is, I just feel that 15 years ago, 20 years ago, you’d just be like just chill out everyone, everyone is writing Arsenal off – they’ve got a must-win game, City are out of it.
“I just thought, wow.”
Martin Odegaard’s injury return changes Arsenal’s chances entirely
Of course, these so-called ‘supercomputers’ might not be giving enough credit to the return of Martin Odegaard at Arsenal.
Former Arsenal great Aaron Ramsey has been blown away by Odegaard’s brilliance of late, highlighting how important his return will be.
As mentioned, Arteta may actually prefer Arsenal’s role as an underdog right now, especially considering they’ve not been able to see through their position as front-runners over the past two seasons.
And if Arsenal are able to string a few wins together once club football returns, those percentages might change rather quickly.
