Music superstar Justin Bieber has just made a statement about Arsenal, having watched them in a pre-season game in the US.
Arsenal are currently in the United States taking part in a pre-season tour.
Mikel Arteta’s side have already taken on Bournemouth and Manchester United on the other side of the Atlantic, and will soon round off their trip to the US a with a face off against Liverpool in Philadelphia.
Last time out, the Gunners took on Manchester United at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. SoFi Stadium is owned by Stan Kroenke, who is also the majority shareholder of Arsenal, and is the home of NFL side the LA Rams.
Josh Kroenke has a more hands-on role at Arsenal than his father, and believes that the North London club are making progress towards winning a Premier League title in the near future.
This will certainly be the aim for Arteta’s side in this upcoming season. The Spanish coach has built a squad capable of competing for major honours, but now they must prove that they can get over the line and actually get their hands on some silverware.
In order to achieve this, though, the Gunners need to get a good pre-season under their belts. These matches will give Arteta’s squad an opportunity to build up a base level of fitness that they will need to carry them through the campaign.
On top of that, this tour is a chance for Arsenal to connect with fans of the team in America, and raise the profile of the club more generally.
Justin Bieber wants to be an Arsenal fan
Having stars from beyond the world of football connected to Arsenal will help to raise the profile of the club, and stars don’t come much bigger than Justin Bieber.
The pop artist is one of the biggest names in music, and was in attendance at SoFi Stadium to see the Gunners beat Manchester United 2-1.
In a video clip posted to the official Arsenal YouTube channel, Bieber was seen at the stadium and said: “I’m feeling it.”
When told that he should be an Arsenal fan, the musician said: “It’s happening!”
Of course, Bieber is not the Gunners’ only famous supporter. The likes of Colin Firth, Anne Hathaway, and Lewis Hamilton, amongst others, make the list of famous Arsenal fans.
Arsenal connect with fans in America
Thousands of Arsenal fans have come out to support the team in the US. Despite living a long way from North London, many of these supporters are just as passionate about the club as those who have the Emirates Stadium on their doorstep.
To emphasise this, Ben White recently reduced an Arsenal fan to tears of joy by signing his shirt whilst on the US tour.
