Arsenal and Liverpool are both battling to win the Premier League title this season.
The Gunners, in many people’s eyes, were the favourites to go all the way in the competition, but Liverpool have emerged as surprise contenders.
The Reds are eight points clear of Arsenal in the Premier League table at the time of writing, but the Gunners have a game in hand.
Things could get very interesting if Arteta’s men beat West Ham and Liverpool end up losing to Manchester City this weekend.
Jamie Carragher, unsurprisingly, wants his old side to win the title, but he is concerned about one area of Liverpool’s side.

Jamie Carragher says he wishes Liverpool had Arsenal star Jurrien Timber
Liverpool completely deserve to be on top of the Premier League table, but it has to be said that luck has been on their side with injuries.
The Reds have avoided injuries to their most key players for large parts of the campaign – unlike Arsenal – and that has helped them massively.
However, now, Liverpool are set to be without Joe Gomez and Conor Bradley, and that has left them a bit short of options at right-back.
Carragher is worried about that situation, so much so that he has claimed that he would love to have a player like Arsenal star Jurrien Timber in Liverpool’s squad.
In his column in The Telegraph, the Reds legend said: “For Liverpool, I have been banging the drum about the need for defensive reinforcement and wish they had a full-back like Jurrien Timber.
“The recent injuries to Joe Gomez and Conor Bradley leave Slot short of cover, but he still has his first-choice back four to select – a contrast to Arsenal’s injury problems up front.”

People are completely ignoring what Jurrien Timber has done at Arsenal
Timber has been Arsenal’s unsung hero this season.
The Dutchman, who joined the Gunners for an initial £34 million, spent nearly the whole of the 2023/24 campaign on the sidelines after rupturing his ACL. Everyone feared that he would need time to get back to his best.
However, Timber has been brilliant this season, and his performances during Ben White’s absence, when he had to play almost every game, were beyond incredible.
Carragher is not wrong to wish that Liverpool had Timber or a player like him. There are very few people in the world who are as robust and versatile as the former Ajax man.
Thankfully, he plays for Arsenal, and we hope that will be the case for a long, long time.
