Chelsea winger Jamie Gittens is a huge admirer of one player in Mikel Arteta’s squad right now.
Andrea Berta had Gittens on his transfer wishlist during the summer window; however, the Englishman made his way to Chelsea.
Gittens is still finding his feet following his £48m move from Borussia Dortmund, still waiting for his first Premier League goal for the Blues.
As Arsenal prepare to face Chelsea on matchday 13, the Gunners will be wary of Gittens’ threat, but the Chelsea star will also be wary of a player of Mikel Arteta’s, being a big fan of Ethan Nwaneri’s talent.
Is Ethan Nwaneri’s future at Arsenal?
Chelsea’s Jamie Gittens is a fan of Arsenal’s Ethan Nwaneri
Arsenal know how talented Nwaneri is, which is why there is talk happening behind the scenes about the 18-year-old’s future.
It’s understood that Arsenal could send Nwaneri out on loan to give him the minutes he deserves, as right now, he’s missing a lot of football.
The Arsenal academy graduate has admirers, one of whom is Gittens, who thinks his England U21 teammate is ahead of two fellow Premier League stars.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Gittens was asked to rank Nwaneri, Elliot Anderson and Archie Gray.
“I think I’m going to go with my boy first, Ethan, technically very gifted, what a player, what a left foot, technically very gifted as well,” Gittens said without much hesitation.
“I’ve played with both Elliot and Archie as well. Elliot is breaking through, yeah, I’ll go with Elliot number two, and then Archie number three, but he’s a sick player as well.”
Anderson has generated a lot of attention already this season due to his form with England and Nottingham Forest, but in Gittens’ eyes, Nwaneri is better.
Gittens and Nwaneri have an incredible record together
There was a time when the two England U21 internationals could’ve been domestic teammates.

Arsenal explored signing Gittens, and given how the winger performs when he’s on the pitch with Nwaneri, there’s an argument to be had over whether the Gunners should’ve pushed harder.
In the five matches that Gittens and Nwaneri have played for England U21, they have won five and have yet to concede a goal.
England U21 have an aggregate score of 13-0 in those five matches, with the two players clearly enjoying sharing the pitch.
