The Kroenkes aren’t entirely aligned on their hopes and dreams for the future of Arsenal Football Club.

Gone are the days of fan protests at the Emirates calling for Stan Kroenke to sell his share of Arsenal.

Since Mikel Arteta has restored the Gunners’ status as one of the best squads in Europe, the Arsenal owner has loosened the purse strings.

One element that has rebuilt the trust between Arsenal fans and the Kroenkes is Stan’s son Josh’s involvement at the club.

Josh Kroenke has won over supporters with how closely he works to support Arteta’s project, but now, the co-chair has even bigger plans than his father.

Josh Kroenke wants to see Arsenal reach a new level on the pitch

Stan Kroenke has a lot of strings to his bow, with Arsenal not his only priority, also owning the Los Angeles Rams.

Being an incredibly wealthy businessman, it’s not bold to assume that Stan is content with how things are over in North London, but for his son, there’s an even greater desire.

Speaking on the Beyond The Back Four podcast, finance expert Kieran Maguire delved into the difference in Josh and Stan’s current stances at Arsenal.

“So, there’s been substantial investment. The total squad cost now exceeds a billion pounds. There’s not many clubs in that category,” Maguire explained.

“So it is a very substantial investment, and if you talk to investors, they want a return. Now, Stan Kroenke does not need a financial return.

“He’ll probably like one, but you know he’s got enough money. I’ve seen the size of his ranch; he’s not going to be worrying about things from a monetary point of view.”

After alluding to Stan’s comfort, Maguire mentioned Josh’s opposing desire to watch Arsenal deliver a higher level of success on the pitch, translating into major silverware.

“I think Josh Kroenke in particular wants to see that return on investment, as do the fans, in terms of success on the pitch.”

Josh Kroenke was pivotal to Arsenal landing Eberechi Eze, which reinforced just how committed the co-chair is to assisting Arteta in delivering the highest level of success.

How much money could Arsenal get for winning the Champions League?

Josh wants Arsenal to push on in terms of winning the biggest prizes, and while his desire is not as explicit, Stan will feel the same.

The Champions League is the greatest accolade that can be won in European football, a trophy the Gunners are constantly reminded that they haven’t won.

It’s not only Josh who will want Arsenal to close the gap between themselves and others wanting to win the Champions League, but Stan too, as the prize money speaks for itself.

Quarter-finals€12.5m
Semi-finals€15m

Arsenal bowed out at the semi-finals last season, which, as per beIN Sports’ information, represents prize money that is €10m less than the fee the winners of the competition receive.

Winning the Champions League wouldn’t only deliver a sizeable cheque to Stan, but also hand Arsenal the title of European supremacy, fulfilling Josh’s needs.
