When Arsenal take on Real Madrid in the quarter-finals, there will be some key battles at the heart of it all.

One of those will involve Jude Bellingham and the Gunners’ midfield, which will have the task of keeping the Englishman quiet.

He has thrown down the gauntlet, though, sending a clear message for the match.

Jude Bellingham says Real Madrid must “change” before Arsenal match

Arsenal drew with Everton in the Premier League as part of their preparation for a clash with Real Madrid in the Champions League.

A first-half Leandro Trossard strike was cancelled out by an Iliman Ndiaye penalty, with the Gunners unable to find a breakthrough.

It wasn’t just Arsenal who struggled, though, as Real Madrid also suffered a far from ideal result at the Bernabeu.

They fell to a late 2-1 defeat against Valencia, as Mouctar Diakhaby and Hugo Duro scored for the visitors, ruling Vinicius Jr’s strike as irrelevant in terms of the result.

It’s far from ideal preparations for either team, though it’s Bellingham who has already thrown it ahead to the coming clash.

Taking to Instagram on his story, he said: “Nowhere near good enough from us. We must change for Tuesday.”

It’s a clear warning from the star ahead of Arsenal vs Real Madrid, which will be a huge tie with season-defining consequences.

Arsenal head-to-head record with Real Madrid

Over the many years in Europe, Arsenal’s clash with Real Madrid in 2006 was the only recorded meeting between the two teams.

The first leg was in Spain, where a Thierry Henry goal was enough to earn a lead heading back to Highbury stadium.

A tense 0-0 draw then played out in the second leg, which was enough for Arsene Wenger and his young side to land a memorable win.
