Arsenal fans are waiting very patiently for Bukayo Saka to return as the Hale End graduate continues his recovery.

The winger has been missing from action since December after Saka sustained a hamstring injury against Crystal Palace.

Mikel Arteta has had to adapt to life without the England international, who is arguably the most vital cog in Arsenal’s attack.

Ethan Nwaneri has impressed in Saka’s absence leaving fans wondering just how good the front line will be when the duo are fused but first, the 23-year-old must fully recover.

Bukayo Saka spotted at Arsenal Women’s North London Derby win at the Emirates

Saka has been away from full training but in reality, he’s rarely been far from the action.

The Englishman travelled with the Arsenal squad to Dubai for the Gunners’ mid-season training camp, with Saka’s return pencilled in for early March if his rehabilitation goes to plan.

As well as being involved in light training, the Hale End graduate has remained close to his teammates, cheering on the Gunners at the Emirates in recent fixtures.

Saka was spotted off crutches at the Emirates when Arsenal drew against Aston Villa and after the squad’s most recent win against Leicester City, the winger returned to N5.

Alongside teammate Jurrien Timber, Saka was in attendance for Arsenal Women’s resounding 5-0 North London Derby victory against Tottenham.

The forward and Timber, who played 90 minutes against Leicester, showed their support for Renee Slegers’ side in North London, cheering on the Gunners in a statement derby win.

Arsenal Women thrash Tottenham at the Emirates

It was a special day for Arsenal, with Saka and Timber making up two of the official attendance count of 56,784 at the Emirates.

The win was essential for the Gunners but, the WSL table is still making for daunting reading as Arsenal Women sit third, 10 points below league leaders Chelsea.

As Arteta’s side got the job done against Leicester, the Women’s side followed suit by dismantling Spurs, with five different scorers on the scoresheet – including an own goal.

Saka and Timber would’ve undoubtedly enjoyed what they saw, taking the opportunity to sit in the stands to cheer on their club.
