Arsenal have been linked with a lot of strikers over the last year, but Kai Havertz will lead the line until another one is signed.
Havertz started the season superbly, scoring in six consecutive home appearances, but he has struggled for goals as a result of Arsenal’s reduced creativity in recent weeks.
The German started upfront against his former club Chelsea and saw a goal disallowed for offside, but only after Havertz shushed the Stamford Bridge crowd with his celebration.
Havertz has now revealed that he loved watching two former Arsenal forwards, but he has overlooked all-time top scorer Thierry Henry in favour of a pair more similar to him.

Arsenal star Kai Havertz praises Dennis Bergkamp and Robin van Persie
Speaking to Premier League India, Havertz was asked which Arsenal forwards he enjoyed watching, and he named Dennis Bergkamp and Robin van Persie.
“I loved Robin van Persie as a striker, even though I think he was more of a proper striker,” Havertz revealed.
“I loved Dennis Bergkamp, he was more of a number 10. These kinds of players, I really enjoyed watching.”
Havertz has picked out two players who each scored over 100 goals, but they are both viewed very differently within the Arsenal fanbase.
By not mentioning the Frenchman, Havertz has followed in the footsteps of Ian Wright, with Wright accidentally forgetting Henry when recently talking about Premier League greats.
Kai Havertz’s similarities to Dennis Bergkamp and Robin van Persie
Bergkamp, like Havertz, was a hybrid between a centre-forward and attacking midfielder, and was one of Arsenal’s greatest-ever players.
Van Persie was a world-class striker at his best, but the Dutchman is still unpopular to this day, as Manchester United signed Van Persie in a highly controversial move in 2012.
Havertz carries some similarities to both, with his false nine style making him play a similar role to that of Bergkamp, whilst his aerial threat and eye for goal saw Havertz match Van Persie’s Emirates scoring record.
The 25-year-old will hope that he can continue to excel as Arsenal’s main forward, and potentially get close to the scoring records of both Dutch attackers.
