Arsenal have woken up in the winter transfer window.

The Gunners had been really quiet in the first week-and-a-half of January, but over the last few days, there has been some big news.

Reports have claimed that Arsenal are set to sign Martin Zubimendi in the summer. That is an incredible move considering that almost every top club in England were after him.

Mikel Arteta is on the hunt for a new striker as well, and a number of names have been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium. Dusan Vlahovic is one player Arsenal want to sign this month.

What Kylian Mbappe once said about Arsenal target Dusan Vlahovic

Kylian Mbappe is one of the best footballers on the planet.

The Frenchman has come under a bit of criticism at Real Madrid, but he has still scored 14 goals in 27 appearances, which is not a bad return at all.

Mbappe, a World Cup winner, has played with and against some incredible players over the years. He knows a fantastic talent when he sees one.

Back in September 2022, when Mbappe was at PSG and was getting ready to face Juventus in the Champions League, he was quizzed about Vlahovic.

The France international raved about him and even branded Vlahovic as ‘one of the best’ strikers of his generation.

He said in a press conference, as per Football Italia: “Vlahovic is a quality striker, he is one of the best of his generation. He can do much better going forward, he has so much to give.

“He has already shown so much, Only time will tell, but I don’t think it is a big risk for me to say that he will be a top striker in the coming years.”

The latest on Arsenal’s move for Dusan Vlahovic

Vlahovic has been a target for Arsenal for a long time.

The Gunners tried really hard to land him back in January 2022. Arteta wanted him to replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at the Emirates at the time, but no move materialised.

Earlier in January, reports claimed that Juventus have offered Vlahovic to Arsenal for just £45.6 million. That is an absolute bargain.

Then, on Monday, it was claimed that Arsenal have had a bid rejected for Vlahovic – the Gunners have tried to sign him on loan until the end of the season.

Juventus either want to sell the striker or loan him out with an obligation-to-buy clause inserted in the deal. They are not interested in any other loan structure at this moment in time.
