Santi Cazorla signs new contract at Real Oviedo to end hopes of Arsenal return for now
Those dreaming of a ‘fairytale’ return for Santi Cazorla at Arsenal will have to wait for another year at least after the Spaniard signed a new contract at Real Oviedo.
It gives Cazorla the chance to lead Oviedo into their La Liga campaign following promotion and leaves the door open for Jack Wilshere to make a coaching return.
The Arsenal U21 managerial role is still available and Wilshere would be the ideal candidate having already had coaching experience at the academy.
As for Cazorla, he signs a new one year deal and will continue playing for another season at the age of 40.

Viktor Gyokeres finds Gabriel Magalhaes ‘funny’ after Arsenal celebration
Arsenal have finally agreed a fee with Sporting Lisbon over a move for striker Viktor Gyokeres and the Swedish striker is already loving his potential new teammates.
Speaking to L’Equipe, Gyokeres has spoken about how he found amusement at Gabriel Magalhaes mocking his iconic celebration during last season’s Champions League clash.
Gyokeres stated: “I’ve been doing it every time I score. Lots of people have copied it, which is cool! Even though some have done it against me, I actually just find it funny.”
Arsenal fans can now look forward to seeing the celebration more often at the Emirates Stadium next season.
