Leandro Trossard contract talks ‘stalling’ amid Saudi Arabia interest

Arsenal have been in discussions with Leandro Trossard over a new contract but according to journalist Ryan Taylor at the Mirror, these negotiations are beginning to ‘stall’.

Trossard has one year left on his current deal, although the Gunners have the option to extend that by a further year to 2027.

With Arsenal open to selling an established first-team player over the next 12 months, Trossard could now be the likely candidate ahead of Gabriel Martinelli and Kai Havertz.

Gabriel Heinze set to join Mikel Arteta’s coaching staff at Arsenal

Following the departure of Carlos Cuesta to Serie A outfit Parma, Arteta has had a void on his coaching staff that needed filling.

According to the Athletic, former Manchester United defender Gabriel Heinze is set to fill Cuesta’s role on the backroom team in North London.

Heinze has managed in Argentina and with MLS Atlanta United and will provide grit and a winning mentality to the club.

Mehmet Ali leaves his role as Arsenal U21 manager

There has been another coaching departure this summer at the Emirates Stadium as U21 manager Mehmet Ali has departed to join Keith Andrews’ coaching team at Brentford.

Ali took over in 2022 and helped to develop the likes of Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly during his tenure.

Per Mertesacker will now be keen to appoint a replacement swiftly, given that the U21 players have already returned ahead of the new season.

Arsenal fans will dream of a return to the club for Jack Wilshere or Santi Cazorla but the successor remains to be seen.
