Arsenal could not quite get over the line once again as they lost 2-1 to PSG in the Champions League semi-final.
Mikel Arteta praised Gianluigi Donnarumma for his performance across the two legs as the goalkeeper made some excellent saves to prevent a number of Arsenal attempts.
The French media have slammed Myles Lewis-Skelly for his display in Paris as the Hale End youngster struggled at the end of a long first season in senior football.
The Gunners’ Champions League dream is over for another season but Arteta was proud of the way his side performed across the tie. However, Luis Enrique is of a differing opinion to his ‘friend’.

Luis Enrique gives his PSG v Arsenal verdict
Arteta thought Arsenal were the better team across the tie and when asked about the comments at his post-match press conference, Enrique gave his verdict on the matter.
Enrique stated: “I don’t agree at all. Mikel Arteta is a great friend but I don’t agree at all.”
The PSG boss did go on to praise the way the Gunners went about the match as their ‘clever’ tactics caused Enrique’s side problems throughout.
Enrique explained: “I think they played in a clever way today and they get the match to the right moment for them because they play in the way they want and love to play but I think in the two legs we score more goals than them and in football, that’s the most important thing.”
Thierry Henry and Arsene Wenger agree with Luis Enrique
Enrique was not alone in thinking that PSG deserved to go through, Arsenal legends Thierry Henry and Arsene Wenger also thought the French were deserving of their place in the final.
Henry is disappointed with Arsenal for going another season without a major trophy as he believed that this campaign was their time to deliver.
It could have been very different for Arteta’s men had they taken their chances and in particular Bukayo Saka’s opportunity just minutes after he had got the Gunners back in the match.
However, nearly moments are becoming a theme for this Arsenal side in recent years and it is now a problem that the manager has to shrug off next season.
