Luis Enrique has admitted that Arsenal pose a particularly challenging threat ahead of the Champions League final in Budapest on May 30.

The PSG manager has pinpointed exactly what makes them so hard to play against.

Speaking to CANAL+ SPORT, Enrique gave his thoughts on Mikel Arteta’s side. “They are the best defensive team in the Champions League, but they also score a lot of goals from set pieces,” he said.

“So it’s a very strong combination and a difficult one for opponents to deal with. We haven’t lost this year in the Champions League, but it’s going to be very difficult.”

“It will be a match where we’ll have to adapt.”

It will come as little surprise that Enrique is completely aware of the set-piece threat Arsenal pose.

The Gunners have scored 18 goals from corners in the Premier League, making them the most feared team in Europe from dead ball situations.

Gabriel Magalhaes has been the primary aerial threat, while Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice have developed into two of the most dangerous corner deliverers in the game.

How PSG have been preparing for Arsenal’s set-piece threat

As Enrique suggests, PSG are already preparing for Arsenal’s set-pieces.

As revealed last week, footage from RMC Sport showed PSG’s goalkeepers being drilled in training specifically to deal with Arsenal’s grappling tactics at corners.

Teammates were jostling and shoving each other in a deliberate mimicry of what awaits them at the Puskas Arena.

As the defending champions, PSG go into the final as the favourites to lift the trophy, but there’s a clear respect for what Arteta has built at the Emirates from Enrique.

Arsenal will arrive in Budapest as Premier League champions, full of confidence and with nothing to fear.
