Arsenal have endured a torrid run of results recently that has piled pressure on the manager and players.
Back to back defeats in the Carabao Cup and FA Cup has meant Arsenal’s chances of silverware this season has decreased rapidly and some fans are running out of patience with Mikel Arteta.
Arsenal missed a number of chances against Newcastle and Manchester United with Kai Havertz also receiving criticism from fans following his penalty miss against the Red Devils.
To add to Arteta’s woes, the Gunners duo Gabriel Jesus and Riccardo Calafiori have picked up injuries. They now add to a growing absentee list that already includes Bukayo Saka, Ben White and Ethan Nwaneri.
However, with a North London Derby on the horizon, one former Arsenal legend has called for calm at the Emirates Stadium.

Martin Keown reminds fans there is still a lot of ‘good’ about Arsenal
Speaking on Talksport’s White and Jordan show, former Arsenal defender Martin Keown has jumped to defend criticism of manager Mikel Arteta amid Arsenal’s poor run of form.
Keown was quick to remind fans of the troubles Arsenal were in when Arteta came in and took over from previous manager Unai Emery, he stated: “We need to remember where he took us from, Arsenal were languishing in mid table and he had to start a total clear out of big players such as David Luiz, Mesut Ozil and Aubameyang.”
Keown continued to launch his defence of the Gunners when he stated: “The foundations of the house are there, they need the roof with a striker but there is a lot of good about Arsenal.”
Arsenal currently sit second in the Premier League six points behind Liverpool and are third in the Champions League’s initial league phase where the top eight sides progress to the next round automatically.
Keown calls for ‘togetherness’ against rivals Tottenham Hotspur

Once again Martin Keown has called for calm around the fixture and believes that Arsenal can use the tricky fixture list to their advantage.
Keown stated: “Well there is nothing like a North London Derby to bring everyone together and that togetherness is what the team has to do and thrive from, they have to stay together through this time.”
Arsenal have already beaten rivals Spurs 1-0 this season thanks to a towering header from Gabriel Maghalhaes. What everyone associated with Arsenal Football Club would give for a repeat in the upcoming encounter.
