Brighton and Hove Albion loanee Maty Ryan featured in a Q&A session on the official Arsenal Twitch channel this morning.
The Australian answered a number of questions from fans, but one particular response will surely catch your eye.
Ryan was asked which Arsenal outfield player would be the best in goal. He was only asked to pick between Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but the former Valencia man pulled another name out of his hat.
Maty Ryan: Fearless Kieran Tierney could play in goal
He said: “I’m trying to think here, maybe Aubameyang because of the height. He’d be able to cover the goal a little bit more.

“Actually, I will throw Kieran Tierney in there. He’s got no fear, man. He would be jumping around, throwing himself at people’s feet. So, I’ll throw him in there.”
That is a surprise but we won’t put it past the Scotsman to succeed there. Tierney is arguably the best left-back in the Premier League, and his quality in attack hint that he would make a decent left-winger as well.
The former Celtic man has also played in central defence for Arsenal in the past, and it won’t shock anyone if Mikel Arteta wakes up one day and decides to stick the Scottish international up front.

Arsenal fans absolutely love Tierney. He is many people’s first-choice to takeover the captain’s armband from Aubameyang when the Gabon star moves on.
His leadership on the pitch has been evident in his two seasons at the club, but if there’s one thing that all Arsenal supporters would wish for, it’s for Tierney to stay as far away from injuries as possible.
Without injury issues, Tierney will take Arsenal to the very top. We’re a different side when he is on the pitch, and hopefully, he can stay fit throughout next season to give us every chance of succeeding.
