The young Englishman, who is just 15 years old, is one of the best players of his age in the world, and he is destined to be a superstar.
Arsenal fans were blown away by Dowman every time they watched him play for the youth sides, and they can’t wait to see him in the senior setup.
That is set to happen in the 2025/26 season.
Arsenal have given Max Dowman the number 56 shirt
Max Dowman’s squad number at Arsenal was 99 until the end of last season.
The teenager did not have an official senior shirt, and he often wore the number 10 for the youth sides when he played for them.
Reports have claimed that Mikel Arteta has told Dowman that he will be a part of the Arsenal first team in the 2025/26 season, so he had to be given an official shirt number.
Jeorge Bird revealed on X that Dowman has been handed the number 56 shirt for the upcoming campaign, which suggests that he is officially a part of the U21s.
Dowman himself took to his Instagram Story and posted a picture of his shorts, which had the number 56 printed on it.
Arsenal will travel to Asia for the pre-season tour on the 19th of July, and Dowman is expected to be a part of Arteta’s side for the games against AC Milan, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur.
It will be interesting to see how he will fare if he gets opportunities there.

The Arsenal Academy star is definitely capable of delivering, but the history of his shirt number is not particularly great.
The six Arsenal players who have worn the number 56 shirt over the years are Salah-Eddine Oulad M’Hand, James Hillson, Ben Sheaf, Nico Yennaris, Emmanuel Frimpong and Ryan Smith.
Those six players played a combined 28 senior games for Arsenal, which is not a great record at all.
However, we are convinced that Dowman will play many more than that, and we’re sure that he will get a better number in the coming years.
