Mikel Arteta addressed the media ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.

Arsenal’s chances of winning the Premier League title took a resounding blow when the Gunners lost to West Ham at the Emirates.

With Liverpool sitting comfortably at the summit with an 11-point gap between themselves and Arteta’s side, another second-place finish looks to be on the cards.

That being said, there are still plenty of Premier League points for Arsenal to play for, starting with a trip to the City Ground on Wednesday night to face Nottingham Forest.

Ethan Nwaneri injury update for Nottingham Forest clash

The City Ground has not always been kind to Arsenal but, the squad must redeem themselves where possible against Nuno Espirito Santo’s spirited side.

Forest could close the gap to just three points between second a third with a win, giving Arsenal extra incentive ahead of the visit.

It wasn’t only the result against West Ham that caused concern for the Gunners, as Ethan Nwaneri looked to be in some discomfort when leaving the pitch.

After the game, Arteta ensured fans that Nwaneri was fatigued, with the boss following up with a fresh update in his pre-match press conference.

“Ethan he was just cramping, his load has been very different, but he’s fine.”

The Hale End graduate has gone from a promising starlet to a first-team starter since the start of the campaign, with the increase in game time catching up with the 17-year-old.

Fortunately, Nwaneri will be in contention to face the Tricky Trees, whom he scored against in the home fixture earlier in the campaign.

Nwaneri is Arsenal’s brightest attacking spark right now

In what has been a terrible season on the injury front for Arsenal, one positive that has come from the need to rotate is the emergence of Nwaneri.

The youngster has shown that he’s more than qualified to help out in the first team, rising as one of Arteta’s most dangerous forwards.

There are few more threatening than Nwaneri Arsenal’s front line right now, with all eyes set to be on what the academy graduate can produce against Forest.

Goals and creativity are needed to get a result at the City Ground, which with Nwaneri on side, is always possible.
