Mikel Arteta discusses Leandro Trossard’s red card decision
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta’s response to Leandro Trossard’s red card against Manchester City spoke volumes.
The Belgian forward received an initial yellow card for a foul on Savinho in the first half, putting him on a disciplinary tightrope.
Later in the half, Trossard was penalised for a foul before he cleared the ball, prompting Michael Oliver to produce a second yellow card, resulting in a red.
Arteta was far from impressed, telling Sky Sports: “I prefer not to comment. I was already in big trouble trying to solve what happened on the pitch.
“It’s that obvious that it’s not necessary to comment on it. I’m expecting 100 games to be nine vs 10 this season if that’s the case.”

Arsenal handed David Raya injury blow
David Raya was the star for Arsenal in their clash against Manchester City, making several big saves to deny the opposition and keep them out.
The Spaniard has proven himself to be the first-choice option for the Gunners ever since joining from Brentford last summer.
However, while he proved to be the saviour yet again on Sunday, there is now a fresh injury concern regarding the goalkeeper.
When leaving the Etihad Stadium, Raya was spotted wearing a bandage around his right leg and limping toward the exit.
Arsenal will be hoping that the 29-year-old won’t be out of action for long, with Neto unable to feature in the EFL Cup tie with Bolton in midweek.
It could see Arteta lean toward one of his younger goalkeepers, after letting Aaron Ramsdale leave for Southampton.

Joan Garcia transfer admission
Arsenal could be set to rekindle their interest in Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia over the January transfer window, reports The Mirror.
The Gunners missed out on the shot-stopper over the summer window, instead landing Neto in a late loan deal from AFC Bournemouth.
While the experienced goalkeeper is at the Emirates Stadium for the season, there is a longer-term issue to cover.
Garcia could solve that, though he has spoken out about the transfer saga recently, saying: “During the entire market I was quite isolated. I was at the Olympic Games and when I arrived La Liga was already starting.
“The last few days were more intense, but I was very isolated, focusing on what I had to do, which is the field. I managed not to get distracted.
“Regarding my continuity, I am very happy that people are happy that I have stayed. I have worked all these years for this – playing with Espanyol in the First Division – and this is how it is. I hope to take advantage of it.
“With the Olympic Games, I came when the season was already beginning. I’ve barely had time to think about it.
“It was the opportunity I’ve been working for, and I couldn’t afford to have my head out of it. Everything comes to you, but I had to be very calm with my head where it should be.”
