However, Arsenal fans have had doubts over Noni Madueke, but according to Alex Crook, speaking on the Premier League All Access Podcast, Mikel Arteta is very convinced by Madueke after looking at his data.

Crook shared what he knows about Mikel Arteta’s view of Madueke.

According to the journalist, Arteta is convinced that Madueke’s numbers look good, believing that he is going to be a good addition to this squad.

In fact, according to Crook, Arsenal believe Madueke will be a shrewd signing even at £52m.

“I know there’s been a lot of resistance about the Madueke deal, but the more you look into that, Mikel Arteta is convinced that his numbers stack up, he’s going to be a good addition to the dressing room. He knows a lot of the Arsenal players already, and they think that will turn out to be a shrewd piece of business,” Crook said.

Noni Madueke compared to Bukayo Saka

Arteta is said to be a fan of Madueke’s underlying stats, and it has to be said the numbers do look impressive.

Indeed, when you compare Madueke to someone like Bukayo Saka, you can see he’s not a million miles away from that level.

Madueke’s attacking numbers are up there with Saka’s, but in terms of creativity, he is lagging behind.

His key passes per game and crosses per game statistics are notably worse than Saka’s, but, that’s something Mikel Arteta will be able to work on.

Overall, this looks like a player with plenty of potential, and there’s reason for Arsenal to be excited by this deal.
