Arsenal cruised to victory against Dinamo Zagreb to move within touching distance of the Champions League round of 16.

The Gunners beat Dinamo Zagreb 3-0 at the Emirates to return to winning ways after the disappointing draw against Aston Villa.

Mikel Arteta’s side were finally able to convert some chances amid criticism of Arsenal’s attack, with Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard finding the net.

Arsenal now need one point to progress in the Champions League, putting the Gunners in a good place to automatically qualify for the final 16.

Mikel Arteta hints at yet another Arsenal injury

Improving in attack is one thing Arteta wants to see promptly from his squad however, the Arsenal manager certainly has one priority wish.

The Gunners have struggled in the injury department throughout the season, with the devastating news of Gabriel Jesus’ ACL rupture a significant blow going forward.

That being said, before the Dinamo Zagreb fixture, Arsenal were handed an injury boost as Riccardo Calafiori and Ethan Nwaneri returned to training but, it’s been suggested that all is not well.

Speaking to the media in his post-match press conference, Arteta hinted that the Gunners’ injury woes have in fact grown since his pre-match update.

“We had some set back yesterday that we could have used tonight. Three of them on the bench that we couldn’t use tonight.”

The update was rather surprising as despite it becoming clear that Myles Lewis-Skelly was absent because of injury, the three on the bench were unanswered for.

Presumably, one figure was Calafiori who just returned from training ahead of the game but the others remain unclear.

Positive injury update as Ethan Nwaneri returned

It’s a worrying time for Arsenal as the squad is already concerningly light in numbers, with the prospect of yet another injury rather dangerous.

There was a positive from the fixture however as after weeks on the sidelines, Nwaneri returned to the pitch, coming on as a substitute.

The 17-year-old returned like he never left, impressing the Emirates who frequently sung his name in the stands.

It seems to be one in and one out in the Arsenal squad at present, in what has been a gruelling season for injuries thus far.
