Arsenal have been punished on the injury front throughout the 2024/25 campaign however, Mikel Arteta just received a boost.

The Gunners are missing several star players due to injury, with William Saliba’s absence against Aston Villa the latest concern.

Bukayo Saka remains weeks away from a return, putting strain on Arsenal’s attack following Gabriel Jesus’ season-ending ACL injury.

Pressure is on Arteta to deliver in the January transfer window but, the Spaniard’s luck could be about to turn around.

Arsenal duo Ethan Nwaneri and Riccardo Calafiori return to training

Amid the transfer market noise, Arsenal return to action in the Champions League, with Dinamo Zagreb set to arrive at the Emirates on Wednesday night.

Arsenal’s clash with Zagreb is of great importance, considering that a win could put the Gunners in touching distance of automatic qualification to the round of 16.

Ahead of the fixture, the Arsenal squad had an open training session, where two stars were spotted back with the team.

Journalist Sam Dean confirmed that both Ethan Nwaneri and Riccardo Calafiori reported to training with the first team, in what is a resounding boost for the Gunners.

The duo’s return comes after Arteta provided a positive injury update on four Arsenal players, coming after a trialling time with absences.

Hale End starlet Max Dowman also in first-team training

While having the two key players back in action is a huge plus, there was another welcomed surprise in training.

That’s because Arsenal U18 jewel Max Dowman was also training with the first team ahead of the Champions League clash.

This comes after Dowman starred in Arsenal’s FA Youth Cup tie against Queens Park Rangers.

At only 15 years old, Dowman is certainly one to watch around the first team, with the teen eager to follow in Nwaneri’s footsteps.
