Mikel Arteta has reacted to Arsenal matching a club record that has stood for 122 years.
Arsenal beat Slavia Prague 3-0 to extend their faultless run of form in all competitions.
Bukayo Saka and Mikel Merino scored record-breaking goals, with the Spaniard bagging a brace, doing a fine job at replacing the injured Viktor Gyokeres.
While the Gunners were impressive in attack, capitalising on some weak moments from Slavia Prague, it was at the back that Arsenal deserve the most credit once again.

Mikel Arteta sets his sights on further defensive success at Arsenal after Slavia Prague win
Arsenal are so difficult to compete with this season, thanks to the strength in depth Arteta has in defence.
The defence is so strong that teams aren’t even getting close to the Gunners, as seen with the record that was matched on Tuesday night.
Arteta’s side became the first Arsenal squad since 1903 to record eight consecutive clean sheets.
Matching a 122-year record isn’t enough for the Arsenal manager, it seems, as in his post-match press conference, Arteta shared what he wants next from his players.
“I want to maintain that because it gives you something to defend and to merit,” Arteta said when asked about the clean sheet record.
Arteta has strict demands for his players, always wanting the best for the squad, making his admission no surprise whatsoever.
Arsenal’s clean sheet record will be put to the test in November
Arsenal had a perfect October, but to keep their form up over November is going to be a really tough challenge.
It’s nothing that Arteta wouldn’t have already set his sights on, with some blockbusters coming up ahead of the run-in to the festive season.
| Date | Opponent | Competition | H/A |
| 08/11 | Sunderland | Premier League | A |
| 23/11 | Tottenham | Premier League | H |
| 26/11 | Bayern Munich | Champions League | H |
| 30/11 | Chelsea | Premier League | A |
Next, Arsenal face Sunderland, who have scored in their previous three Premier League games.
Then, after the international break, Arsenal will entertain Tottenham and Chelsea in London derbies and in the Champions League, Bayern Munich await.
Vincent Kompany’s side have already scored 33 goals this season in the Bundesliga, which will be the ultimate test for Arteta’s back four.
If Arsenal can get to December unscathed, then who knows what the future could hold.
