Arsenal will need to be at their attacking best when it comes to this season in the Premier League, with a clear reliance on their forward line finding the back of the net more regularly.

Under Mikel Arteta, the Gunners have continually come close to Premier League success, but haven’t quite managed it.

Over the past year, some luck with injuries can certainly be blamed for a lack of competitiveness at the top, but questions have been raised about the forward line.

After years of waiting, Arsenal finally landed an out-and-out number nine, signing Viktor Gyokeres to become part of the frontline.

The arrival of Noni Madueke is a boost, while Arsenal are closing in on Eberechi Eze as another addition to the team.

There are no excuses for the Gunners when it comes to the front end of the pitch, and Arteta will need them all to be at their clinical best.

While many would assume that responsibility falls at the feet of Gyokeres, the Arsenal manager actually thinks another star is a better finisher.

Mikel Arteta picks Bukayo Saka as the best finisher at Arsenal over Viktor Gyokeres

While many will hope that Gyokeres can be the clinical edge that Arsenal have been missing, Arteta believes he isn’t the best finisher at the club.

Instead, the manager opted for Bukayo Saka as his pick of the squad, believing he is able to find the back of the net more easily.

When asked by ESPN Brazil for the best finisher in the squad, he quickly named the England international as his answer.

He did mention his new striker, though, as Arteta named Gyokeres as the best penalty taker at Arsenal, which could hint towards his role from the spot in the future.

There will be some hope that both Saka and Gyokeres can find the back of the net plenty in the months ahead, along with their fellow teammates.

Bukayo Saka’s goal-scoring statistics at Arsenal

Bukayo Saka is one of Arsenal’s most important stars, and keeping him free from injury will be key for the season ahead.

The winger has managed to score plenty of goals, hitting double figures on three occasions, while his assist tally has kept on rising.

There’s no doubt that there could have been more last season, with injury hampering his campaign as a whole.

However, his quality is on display; he is capable of taking shots with his left foot or his right foot, taking them from range or up close.

With his variety of finishes, it’s no surprise that Arteta thinks he is the best at the club.

However, it shows that a new contract for Saka is so important for the coming months.
