Ian Wright, Roy Keane and Gary Neville have now all said the same thing about Viktor Gyokeres at Arsenal

Arsenal have had a blockbuster transfer window so far.

The Gunners have spent close to £200m already, and with Eberechi Eze set to sign, the north London club’s summer spending could soon be in record territory.

Noni Madueke has signed this summer, while Martin Zubimendi has also joined in a big-money deal.

However, Arsenal’s biggest signing of the summer so far has been Viktor Gyokeres.

Gyokeres joined Arsenal earlier in the window, ending Mikel Arteta’s lengthy pursuit of a new number nine.

Speaking on Stick to Football, Gary Neville, Roy Keane and Jamie Carragher have all been discussing Arsenal’s move for Gyokeres, and they all agreed on the same verdict here.

Viktor Gyokeres is a hit

Neville, Wright and Keane were assessing a number of this summer’s transfers, rating whether they were a hit or a miss.

Inevitably, the trio began to talk about Viktor Gyokeres.

Even after Gyokeres had an underwhelming debut, the three pundits were all in agreement that the striker would be a hit at Arsenal this season.

“The next one is Viktor Gyokeres, £55m, hit, not sure or miss?” Neville asked.

“I’m saying a hit,” Wright said.

“I’m going for a hit,” Keane said.

“I think hit,” Neville said.

“If he stands there he will get chances won’t he, even if he just stands there.

“That’s the thing, even the goal he scored, he’s just ambling in there and that’s what we need,” Wright said.

Premier League star strikers who had slow starts

Gyokeres had an underwhelming debut for Arsenal, and there is a feeling that there may be an adjustment period needed for the Swedish forward at the Emirates after his arrival.

However, that said, there is a precedent for star strikers starting slow in the Premier League only to kick on and become stars later on.

Even if Gyokeres doesn’t hit the ground running, he could become a brilliant striker for Arsenal once he’s up to speed.

Even Thierry Henry was slow to start in the Premier League, but, in the long run, Gyokeres does have the attributes to become a goalscoring machine in the Premier League.
