Mikel Arteta gives update on Bukayo Saka injury

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has discussed the injury suffered by Bukayo Saka in his side’s win over Crystal Palace.

The Gunners put five goals past the Eagles in a huge victory as part of their Premier League title push for the season, though the issue for the talisman came as one big blow.

He went down clutching his right hamstring, while videos after the match showed the 23-year-old limping away from the stadium on crutches.

“But he had pain, so it’s not good news obviously so we have to assess him and wait.”

Jamie Carragher slams Arsenal star William Saliba

While Arsenal had some impressive performances in their win over Crystal Palace, there were also some concerning displays.

One of those was for William Saliba, with the defender having a few difficult moments in the backline when under pressure.

With some of those tough moments, former Liverpool centre-back Jamie Carragher slammed the Frenchman.

Speaking on Sky Sports, he said: “Saliba needs to sort himself out. He’s one of the best in the Premier League, but he’s not been at the races so far.”

In the end, Arsenal avoided conceding more than once in the game, though it was far from convincing at times, despite the scoreline.

Emile Smith Rowe says Martin Odegaard is the best playmaker in the Premier League

Former Arsenal star Emile Smith Rowe has been full of praise for captain Martin Odegaard, even since leaving the club.

The Norway international’s performances have made him a key player in the side, with his absence felt in recent months.

With a return to form coming after Odegaard’s reintroduction into the team, it highlights just how important he is.

It also backs up a claim made by Smith Rowe when he was asked to name the best number ten in the league.

He said to Sky Sports: “My ex-teammate, Martin Odegaard. He’s probably one of the best players I’ve played with, to be honest.

“Obviously, there’s KDB, he’s probably my favourite player in the Premier League, but, seeing someone every day, seeing how they live, how they work, day in, day out…

“How he (Odegaard) performs every week, man, it’s just crazy. He’s one of the best I’ve been around.”
